In line with the company’s growth, numerous openings are available for seasoned market research analysts/writers who can research and write complete, self-contained technical/economic market research reports covering technology markets such as advanced materials, chemicals, plastics, semiconductor processing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, fuel cells, various energy topics, alternative fuels, information technology, instrumentation/controls, environmental issues such as air and water pollution monitoring/reduction, and other technology markets.

Compensation is competitive. Analysts work from their own home offices independently and can be based anywhere in the world. Compensation includes a guaranteed advance against royalties and ongoing royalties based on total report sales.

Qualifications, Experience, and Knowledge:

The successful analyst should:

  • Be analytically inclined
  • Be able to find and/or access primary sources of market data and intelligence
  • Be very comfortable with numerical data and have the ability to estimate and forecast the market demand, in both dollars and physical units, for products and technologies
  • Have good research skills and familiarity with data sources in their chosen field
  • Be organized and able to meet publishing deadlines
  • Be sensitive to possible copyright issues when it comes to composition of report text and tables
  • Have the ability to present a well-integrated, readable, and organized qualitative and quantitative document
  • An advanced degree (preferably in an industry mentioned above) is helpful but relevant experience can often be as valuable or even more valuable

Biotechnology has a Promising Future

According to a new technical market research report, Environmental Markets for Biotechnology, the U.S. market for environmental biotechnology products for waste treatment is expected to be worth $ 180.2 million in 2008. This is expected to increase to $ 261.3 million by 2013, a compound average annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.7%. The market is broken down into applications of microbial blends, nutrients, enzymes and microbes. Of these, ­microbial blends have the largest share of the environmental biotechnology market. Expected to be worth $ 89.2 million in 2008, this segment will increase to $ 130.6 million in 2013 for a CAGR of 7.9%.¹

High growth predicted in Nanotech Market

Nanotechnology is expected to be worth $27 billion in five years time, according to a report issued by BCC Research. Worth an estimated $11.6 billion in 2007, the market is forecast to increase to $12.7 billion in 2008, reaching a value over double this amount in the next five years at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.3%.
The market comprises the applications of nanomaterials, nanotools and nanodevices, with nanomaterials accounting for 87% of the market. This segment is predicted to be worth $10.8 billion in 2008, rising to $18.7 billion in 2013 for a CAGR of 11.7%.

Siemens combines identity management and biometrics units

Siemens has announced that it will combine its identity management and biometrics businesses into a new unit that will begin operations in June. The new unit, which will employ 130 people, will be formed from the combination of Siemens’ IT Solutions and Services biometrics center in Graz, Austria, and its Siemens Healthcare arm which provides identity and access management. The company said the move will enable it to offer cross-sector biometric applications.¹
